This is one a series of posts covering aspects of the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk.

One big attraction of rooms at the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk is in the hotel's name. The fact that there is a separate living room is attractive for families which treats the added space as an extra bedroom  via the sofa bed. For other guests it's the simple pleasure of having a place to relax and sit that isn't the room's bed. The inclusion of a kitchenette makes the suite feel like a home away from home.

The living area has one big plus that rooms at other Embassy Suites lack: a lanai. My lanai is one of two (the second is accessed from the bedroom) that faces the neighboring Trump Tower. But from this 20th floor rom one has an expansive view of the ocean to the south and a wide mountain view to the north. Two patio chairs and small table makes the lanai another place to soak in the sun and cool air all in the space of one's own.

The corner kitchenette includes a mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. There's cupboard space below and above the sink to hold your personal stash of food. A dining area includes two chairs and one office chair. The chair alternates as the room's desk and includes a free connection to wired internet service. Wi-fi is free in certain common areas of the hotel.

But the room is all about inviting guests to relax. And for that purpose guests will find in a corner a sofa bed, armchair, and two side tables with lamps and a coffee table. This group of furniture faces a flat-screen high-definition television which sits on a counter which holds large drawers providing more extra storage space. The placement of a wall mirror turns the counter in a vanity for guests assigned to the sofa bed. The room is tastefully designed in tropical accents and feels roomy despite the number of furniture pieces.
