The Channel Gardens at Rockefeller Center
Looking for a tiny piece of paradise. Check out the Channel Gardens at Rockefeller Center. It separates the La Maison Francaise and British Empire Building in the way the English Channel separates the two countries in whose honor the buildings were named. It's a calming feeling even at this busy corner of the complex to view the plants and flowers and serene fountain with bronze sculptures. The garden slopes from Fifth Avenue drawing visitors to the garden itself, shops and other buildings of Rockefeller Center. It's always worth visit to see which plants of the season have been placed on display or to see the flowers in full bloom. This was my last stop before returning back to my hotel to drop off my shopping finds and take a breather before heading to an off-Broadway matinee performance.
For comparison purposes, below are some photos of the Channel Gardens taken during a previous visit to New York.
Visit rockefellercenter.com for more info about the Channel Gardens and the other attractions at Rockefeller Center.
