I know it's not a good sign when an ambulance fronts a McD's. (image credit: TheHopefulTraveler) |
It's one of the largest with over 200 seats. Most of the seating is located on the second level which is decorated with hand painted murals of New York City. The centerpiece (which has suffered wear and tear over the years) on this level is an 80 square food diorama of Manhattan. Grab a table by the window and get a front row seat of all the activity on the street and around the TKTS ticket booth at Duffy Square.
The big plus at breakfast is the crowds have not yet descended upon Times Square with patrons at this location mostly comprised of workers in the area and visitors staying at nearby hotels. Each one registers are open and workers are eager to take and serve your order as efficiently as possible. Seats to dine-in are always available at this time of the morning.
When I'm visiting the city, in need for a breakfast close to my Times Square hotel and looking for a quick and reasonable morning meal, I'll head over to this McDonald's. We all know the menu and for about six bucks patrons can order a filling breakfast with a drink. This of course does not mean I'll eat every breakfast here but it's good to know it there. After enjoying breakfast here at least once or twice each visit to the city, I've gotten used to the great service at breakfast to recommend it for those staying in Times Square.Once lunch hits, its best to avoid the location unless you're willing to fight the tourist throngs visiting Times Square who are now seeking their lunch, dinner or snack from the eatery.
