Chocolates Each Evening at the Renaissance

This is something I have not experienced in a while with cost cutting services by hotels: the nightly turndown service. The Renaissance Chancery Court calls it a refreshing of the room. In addition to pulling the shades, turning on the lamp lights and offering chocolates for the evening, housekeeping will replace towels used earlier in the day.

Myself I always found it unusual to have a chocolate right before bedtime. Instead I kept on placing these chocolates into the nightstand to snack for later.

By the way the chocolates were always left on the nightstand rather than on the pillow. The turndown service used to be a given in most fine hotels. But in recent years, this service has become an upon request option. So it was rather nice to find this service automatically offered each evening.
