This is one a series of posts covering aspects of the Wraparound Terrace Suite.
I've stayed at a couple of suites that had full kitchens and one of the hardest things for housekeeping is to keep them looking new. We all know from our kitchens that from the daily wear and tear, even the cleanest of us know that regular maintenance is necessary to keep them working and looking good. Knowing hotels routinely update their guests rooms about every ten years, perhaps the hotel owners won't have to worry about it.
With that said the Wraparound Terrace Suite at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has a shiny full kitchen that includes a smooth top four-burner range with oven, microwave, wine refrigerator, dishwasher, and spacious refrigerator/freezer which has doors that match the cabinetry. This all comes with a single basin kitchen sink and lots and lots of cupboard storage.
The main reason these kitchens exist is the Cosmopolitan was originally planned as mix condominium and hotel. The change to an all-hotel casino was decided after design work was completed but before construction was finished.
The only two things missing that would be convenient are a single serve coffee maker and a roll of paper towels. There was a slim roll of towels when I checked in. Though I used one sheet the remainder of the roll disappeared and was never replenished. There is a short stack of cocktail napkins on the bar tray.
A bar, with two leather counter stools and which provides additional counter space, includes the amenities to prepare your favorite cocktails. Within arms reach are various types of drink ware, a stainless steel ice bucket, and bar set which includes a bottle opener, stirrer, jigger, corkscrew, shaker and strainer. The only thing missing is the liquor. But for a premium price the mini-fridge offers some options to fix that omission.

Generous lighting features include a ceiling fixture over the bar and recessed lighting in the kitchen with additional lighting illuminating the counters. A portion of the refrigerator is occupied by mini-bar items for purchase but a top and door shelves leave room for personal goods. Non-refrigerated snacks for purchase are laid out on the counter. But be careful these items and those in the refrigerator will be registered as a purchase once they are removed. Best advice is not to even touch them to avoid a mis-charge.
Completing the look are sleek black counters, ceramic tile floors; a stylish framed photograph print; and the light wood cabinets that are smooth but have a textured look. For those using their suite to entertain, the open concept give hosts in the kitchen a view of the dining living areas including the flatscreen television.
We've all eaten in a hotel room on one occasion or another and the dining area and kitchen gives a delineated space for that purpose. Washing your hands or dishes in a kitchen instead of the bathroom is a welcomed change.
Now I'm not sure which guests will use the various appliances during their stay at The Cosmopolitan. Perhaps those staying much longer than the three nights I was there. And with fantastic dining options in the hotel and at nearby resorts, it's hard to think someone stocking up the cupboard and refrigerator with food.
