We all the know the feeling of being overwhelmed by choices. Such is the case at Cafe Duke a deli unlike any other I have seen so far in New York City. This is one is far different from the corner delis found in Times Square.

If you see the locals in the deli then it has to be worth visiting. At Cafe Duke this Tuesday afternoon workers from nearby office buildings create a traffic of people lining up at the various food counters or to check out. A couple of good friends in the city picked the place based on the number of food choices offered here to pick up some lunch to take away and enjoy at nearby Central Park.
This is kind of place you can go with a group and there should be something to satisfy every palate: pizza, sushi, soba noodles, Korean dishes, Chinese dishes, salad station, pasta station, deli sandwiches, pastries and more.
My choices for lunch are a tray of tuna maki sushi, a fresh cubed watermelon and a bottle of
Zico coconut water. This was definitely a refreshing lunch on this hot summer afternoon. I'd likely return to Cafe Duke since it's close to the hotels where I usually stay in Midtown.
Cafe Duke is located at 140 West 51st Street between 6th and 7th Avenue. It is open daily but based on the conversation of the people in front me, the cafe only offers very limited food choices on the weekends.
