Top 50 Most Visited Tourist Attractions

Forbes magazine has released a 2007 ranking of the 50 most visited tourist attractions in the world. The researchers at Forbes indicate the list reveals several tourist industry truisms: A) Americans love to travel, but they prefer to stick within their own borders. B) Wherever Mickey Mouse goes, he conquers. C) Paris is the unofficial cultural theme park of the world. And D) Niagra Falls isn't just for lovers anymore. There are some surprises. Count how many you have visited or want to visit.
Click on the name of an attraction for a link to a related website. Where an official website could not be found, the link is to an information or ticketing website. For Niagara Falls, the links are under the location name since there are different websites for the Canadian and American Falls. If a ranking includes two attractions (such as Tokyo Disneyland / DisneySea), links are included for both.

  2. Hi,

Great list. Must be hard to obtain all the data to compile this. Maybe worth mentioning the Efteling amusement park in The Netherlands with 3.2 million visitors in 2007.

    Regards,

  3. I have been to 17 out of 50! Not bad... only 33 to go - LOL. I really have to go back to Orlando though, they are the most fun of the tourist attractions listed. I want to show my children the dinosaur in the Natural History Museum, but it's ruined having read Bill Bryson and there is not one real bone involved!!!
